We find swing/lindy dance venues all over the world and frequent Swing 46, The Cotton Club etc because we live in the NYC area.  Initally reluctant about Platforms because it suggests 1970s disco music and that's not our interest, it seems they offer a good variety of  music styles on different nights of the week.  When I first walked in the stripper pole on the upper level  seemed a little creepy, but after that the place is just fun.  The night we were there they had Frankie Manning in HellsA Poppin playing on the tv screens along with many other great moments in Lindy.
If you don't know Lindy, check out Frankie on youtube -- he invented Lindy in Harlem's Savoy nightclub in the 1930s.  Even if you only like hiphop, if you can't appreciate this, you're just wrong.  Anyway, the decor at Platforms is fun, the crowd is friendly and there is tons of room to dance, even if the black and white dance floor is full.
Two talented warm and enthusiastic dance teachers were available throughout the night -- dancers of all levels were very welcome on the dance floor -- and seriously, some people had never tried swing dancing before and had a blast.  As always with a lindy crowd, tons of young people mix with people from that generation who know their way around a dance floor  --  walk right in and feel at home.  The only thing I can say about the guy who gave a two star review because he is uncomfortable around different generations is that in another of one of his reviews he referred to soda as "awesome."
The ambience is dim but not dark, a labyrinth of rooms, bars and alcoves with funky couches. (Our favorite is the leopard-print chaise longue.) The large sunken dance floor dominates the room, augmented by small dancer's cages and platforms. There's also a saloon , a VIP room and champagne lounge, which has lockers for storing unfinished bottles. The rest will be waiting, chilled, whenever you return. Customers are well-dressed, and in some cases stunningly and daringly so. These are young people on display.
And they have money to spend on more than leather and lamM-i clothing. Any of the dozen or so martinis are $10 a pop; a good sherry, $13. With a cover and valet, you could spend $28 before your second drink.
The decor is entirely new, including the shiny, elegant bathrooms. A patio with its own bar has been opened up, offering a terrace view of fountains. Service from the nattily uniformed staff is friendly and efficient. Although music is from a DJ, live acts are planned for the near future. It hits the mark in every direction.

Catch Saturday night fever at Platforms in Boca Raton, with a sprawling dance floor, groovy décor from the era, and state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems. Shake your groove thing to old school disco all night long, provided by a DJ or live band. This was a 40th birthday to remember.
Our party was having a great time and service was amazing. Everything was great until this old zombie came up to our bartender and asked us to close our tab because he was weary about an $800 tab not being paid as most of us were on the dance floor. We had zero intention of leaving any time soon. We had to leave early because of a rude act from an old owner who couldnt trust a birthday party to pay. We could of paid twice as much before being kicked out.
Dont come to this establishment and support a business on the outskirts of Mizner that cant hold up to their standard. The drinks are delicious and fairly priced. We had Cokes, juices, cocktails, mocktails, and beers. Traditional Irish bar offering billiards, darts, live music and an outdoor patio. Last Saturday night my wife and I just happend to be walking on the block where Platforms is located. We had just eaten at a nearby restaurant. Seeing a crowd got us interested and the next thing we knew we were inside dancing.
The website states $5 for well drinks and wine. Well I'm here right now and well drinks are $8. False advertising, Bartenders wouldn't honor the $5. It is a fun place for disco music and meeting peopke. Well Im here right now and well drinks are $8.
False advertising, Bartenders wouldnt honor the $5. We went when it was 80s, 90's night but they mostly played 70's for some reason but it was still a fun night. Mostly older and I do mean older crowd so I'm not sure if I will be going back. The music was good, the drinks were a bit expensive, I had the komekazie for 11 dollars which was alot and the beers were 6.
It is in Boca so I don't expect it to be cheap. • Chop's Lobster Bar will feature a happy hour and additional live entertainment from 5 p.m. The festival-style event celebrates the recent completion of the City of Boca Raton CRA's $5 million enhancement program and new Downtown Boca Pedestrian Promenade that has created a new destination hub at its centrally located Sanborn Square Park. The new reconstructed paved streets and widened sidewalks strengthen the physical and experiential connection and enhance and promote walkability between south and north ends of Downtown Boca. Boca Gold had opened there in early July, featuring women in lingerie or bathing suits who dance on raised platforms with ground-to-ceiling poles, as DJs played. The club drew noise complaints and criticism that it resembled a strip club, which is prohibited at that site.
Its new owner, Kevin Caricato, said he hopes the venue, which can hold 775 people, also will host "first-tier" music acts. Polyesters Boca will now be called Platforms, a 70/80s themed dance club. The 8,000-square-foot interior feels cozy thanks to a fireplace, lots of carved wood, brick and Italianate décor. However, a firepit and outdoor bar frequently beckon patrons to the patio.
This place is so tacky and empty.  Full of the older crowd 40-60's.  It's cool if you fall into that range and love 70's-90's music and dancing like a fool with the rest of them. If you want to have a really good time give Platforms a try. Of course you got to love dancing and this type of music. Great food, really cool you don't have to tip, save me a lot!
Had my birthday party at Platforms, loved the music, danced all night, bottle prices were excellent, bartenders were nice and all my guests had a great time. Do yourself a favor, stay away from this place. Bar staff are great even though the drink prices are ridiculous. Female owner literally stalks the place watching everyone. The security guard attacked a friend of mine for no reason cutting open his head. Police were called but nothing was done.
Ruined a special night for all of us. The music is OK, but the drinks are WAY overpriced! When I asked for a club soda, it was $3. Dedicated drivers dont even get a soda free. Creepy old guy owner said, Its our policy.
